Based on two recent posts on their official X account, Garmin appears to be teasing the release of a new satellite-enabled communication feature or device. The posts hint at added functionality that goes beyond their current InReach lineup, which already offers two-way messaging, location sharing, and SOS alerts via satellite.

The first post shows a hiker using a phone to send a voice message without requiring cell service, stating, “Tell them you miss them, no cell service required.” This suggests the possibility of new voice communication functionality.

The second post shows a device displaying “Image Sent” on its screen, again emphasizing that this can be done out of cell range. Here they are teasing the capability to send images via satellite.

This could mark Garmin’s next step in satellite communication, with the potential to offer voice and multimedia messaging alongside existing text messaging, SOS, and location-tracking features.
