Many users have reported that the Garmin Fenix 8’s napping feature is currently broken and showing wildly inaccurate data.

In one specific example, a user’s 47mm Fenix 8 AMOLED indicated an impossible nap duration of 2,330,593 hours and 19 minutes split across three naps. Rebooting the device did not solve the issue, and the nap data was not reflected anywhere in the Garmin Connect app.

This issue isn’t isolated, as many users have reported similar problems with the nap glance feature. The feature appears to struggle with detecting naps accurately and doesn’t allow users to edit incorrect nap data, making it unusable in many cases.

Garmin’s Response

Garmin has acknowledged the issue. In a statement, Garmin noted that its engineers have identified the cause of the problem and anticipate a software update to resolve the glitch between the end of September and early October. This issue, among many others, highlights some early software challenges with the new Fenix 8.
