HRM Pro Discontinued

Garmin has officially confirmed that both the HRM-Pro and HRM-Pro Plus heart rate monitors have been discontinued and will not be restocked. The HRM-Pro has already been removed from Garmin’s website, and the HRM-Pro Plus is currently listed as out of stock. While Garmin has not yet announced specific reasons for this decision, it is speculated that at least one of the issues is the tool-free battery door resulting in battery danger concerns in some countries.

Garmin is preparing for a redesign or new iteration of their flagship heart rate monitor. Looking ahead, no official timeline for a new product has been revealed, but October appears to be a likely period for an announcement and latest by the end of the year. This new model may address any issues with the previous designs and potentially improve on the 1 year battery life of the HRM-Pro.

In the meantime, Garmin continues to offer a few specific heart rate monitors:

  • HRM-Dual ($69.99): The only general-purpose heart rate monitor currently available.
  • HRM-Fit ($149.99): A heart rate monitor specifically designed for women, providing a better fit.
  • HRM-Swim ($99.99): A swim-specific heart rate monitor.
