Today, Garmin has launched the Garmin Fenix 8. The Fenix 8 brings a fresh set of upgrades, new display options, enhanced battery life, and more functionality.

Key New Features of the Garmin Fenix 8

  1. AMOLED Display Option – For the first time in the Fenix series, Garmin has introduced a vibrant AMOLED display option across the Fenix 8 lineup. Alongside the traditional MIP (Memory-in-Pixel) version, the new AMOLED screens add another display choice choice depending on user preferences.
  2. Larger Screens with Slimmer Bezels – Garmin has made subtle yet impactful changes to the Fenix 8’s design. The 43mm model has been slightly expanded from 42mm and now features a 1.3-inch display, while the 47mm model boasts a 1.4-inch screen—an improvement over the previous generation. The 51mm version retains its 1.4 inch screen.
  3. Enhanced Battery Life – Garmin has improved the battery life slightly of the Fenix 8. Even with the more power-hungry AMOLED displays, the Fenix 8 offers up to 29 days in smartwatch mode on the 51mm model.events.
  4. New Dive Features – The Fenix 8 brings a new layer of versatility with dive functionality, making it an even more comprehensive tool for outdoor enthusiasts. Users can take advantage of depth sensors and specialized dive modes for activities like snorkeling and freediving.
  5. Voice Control – The Fenix 8 also incorporates voice control functionality, a first for the Fenix series. This feature allows users to interact with their phone’s smart assistant, send messages via speech-to-text, and control various watch functions hands-free.

Design and Durability

The Fenix 8 retains its signature rugged build with titanium and stainless steel case options. The watch is water-rated up to 10 ATM.

Garmin has managed to slim down the overall thickness of the Fenix 8 compared to its predecessors. The 43mm and 47mm models both come in at 13.8mm, while the 51mm version measures 14.7mm.

Pricing and Availability

The Fenix 8 starts at $999 for the standard AMOLED models and goes higher based on the materials and configurations (such as Solar options or Titanium Build with Sapphire lenses). The new line will be available on Garmin’s website and through authorized retailers starting today.
