Uhrenlounge, a German-based watch lounge, has shared some official marketing details about the Fenix 8.

Display Options:

The Fenix 8 will be available with either an AMOLED display or a power-saving MIP solar display. 

  • AMOLED Models: Available in three sizes: 43 mm (1.3″), 47 mm (1.4″), 51 mm (1.4″)
  • MIP Variants: Available in two sizes: 47 mm (1.3″), 51 mm (1.4″)

Earlier rumors predicting larger screen sizes were correct, except for the 51mm, which oddly has the same screen size as the 47mm. There will be No Solar option for AMOLED models. The MIP solar display is 50% more solar energy efficient than its predecessor. There will be no MIP variation on the 43mm watch.

Battery Life:

The AMOLED model may have a shorter battery life than its Epix predecessor

  • The 51 mm AMOLED model offers up to 29 days of battery life in smartwatch mode.
  • The 51 mm MIP solar model can last up to 48 days with the always-on display.

We are still waiting for more details on the battery life of other size / model specifications

Materials: 

As with prior generations, Available in both titanium or stainless steel bezels, with titanium versions costing $100 extra. Features waterproof metal buttons and a new side-mounted sensor protector.

Speaker and Microphone: 

The Fenix 8 will gain the functionality of the Venu 3 and add new voice commands. The Fenix 8 allows users to make calls directly from the watch when paired with a smartphone. Voice commands can be used to activate frequently used functions such as: Starting a strength training session, Setting a timer, and Saving a waypoint.

LED Flashlight:

No changes over previous models and will include an integrated LED flashlight with adjustable brightness, red light, and strobe mode.

Diving Functions:

As expected the Fenix 8 adds diving capabilities by default The Fenix 8 supports recreational diving and freediving up to 40 meters, with official diving certification and waterproof, inductive buttons.

Additionally, it is all but confirmed that there will be no LTE cellular chipset in any of the models.

I find it hard to believe that the 51mm has the same size face as the 47mm What is the point of getting the larger watch? Must be a typo.
