The hints that Garmin will officially announce the Fenix 8 in August or early September 2024 continue to grow.

First, at the beginning of July, we learned about the upcoming Garmin Fenix 8 series, along with a new model called the Fenix E, which was briefly listed on the Finnish retail website multitronic.fi. Then, a second leak emerged from an Icelandic authorized Garmin retailer’s website, garminbudin.is, providing more insights into the upcoming models. These consistent leaks from multiple sources make it highly likely that we will see the Garmin Fenix 8 in the latter half of 2024.

Recent findings provide more evidence. Snippets from the sitemaps for two UK watch/jewelry sellers, Jura Watches and W Hamond, show pages referencing the Fenix 8 that have been created but not yet published with content:

  • Fenix 8 Models: The links indicate a Fenix 8S, 8, and 8X, following the current sizing scheme.
  • Pro Models: The links also show Pro models across all sizes, creating speculation that Garmin could release the Pro models alongside the non-Pro models. However, it is unclear what the difference would be between the two models.
  • Color Options: Indications of various colors, including rose gold. Garmin typically has a large number of SKUs and colors.
  • Display Types: The term “Sapphire Solar” is used, which is also used for the high end Fenix 7 line. This feature set could continue and be exclusive to the MIP screen models, or it might suggest that Garmin has figured out how to incorporate solar panels within the OLED models as well.
